Cavanagh's have a long association with the village of Ballingarry in North Tipperary – indeed there are records to confirm that the family operated a blacksmith's forge at this location as early as 1806 – the same location at which the current factory and offices are located.

The Blacksmiths business was passed from generation to generation and was primarily involved in the manufacture of agricultural equipment such as ploughs and other farm implements. In later years the company became involved in other agricultural equipment such as gates, scrapers, cattle pens, feeders, silage barriers and the like.

Towards the 1970's, Cavanaghs started to become involved in the manufacture of Playground Equipment for local authorities and schools, predominantly swings, slides and roundabouts.

The playground equipment range was expanded as demand increased, leading to the introduction of multiplay equipment in the late 1980's. Our range of multiplay equipment has been continually expanded and updated, leading to the equipment which we currently offer which is compliant with all current safety standards including IS EN 1176.

We are now operating from a state of the art premises on the site of the original blacksmith's forge.
